LA MESA by Chef Javier

Food has always been at the heart of my family.  Growing up, my grandfather would send homemade soups which I would devour from my thermos at lunchtime in school. Afterschool, my grandmother would typically have a plate of rice and beans, with tangy garlicky porkchops and fried plantains waiting for me.  On weekends, my parents would cook a huge meal for family and friends, and the house would be filled with the aroma of good food and the sounds of salsa music and laughter, as our loved ones gathered.  Food was a source of love and memories. 

After three years in college, I knew I needed to follow my passion. I left school and enrolled at the Institute of Culinary Education. Shortly there after I was hired to work at Tatiana by Chef Kwame Onuwachi, where I enjoyed contributing to the success of the restaurant. Today, I continue to follow my passion by hosting private dinner parties and bringing my culinary expertise to your family and friends.
